thinking about taylor going on stage for the speak now tour every night wearing sparkly dresses and singing about true love and fairytales and sparks flying and enchanted meetings…and how jake’s words about how she was immature and too young for her would have been ringing in her head…and how she changed her style so drastically as soon as the era came to a close…presenting herself in a way that was So Adult while still feeling obligated to be this Good Girl who never drank or went to parties…and how much she wanted to stress that the red tour was mature and more based in reality…and while a lot of this is undoubtedly just the natural result of her growing up i have to wonder….was part of it her trying to prove to jake that she was mature and sophisticated like all his friends? like the girl he wanted her to be?
